9th Annual feminine weapon day 2022

The 9th Annual Feminine Weapon Day benefit took place at Durian Songbird’s joy-filled home in downtown, Los Angeles on Sunday, January 30th.

Since 2014, communities have been gathering on January 30th to honor the power of femininity and co-creation, benefiting children who are in need of care.

Limited to just 50 people, participants enjoyed a one-night-only interactive theater experience called, “The Space Between Stories” inspired by Kayla Sibler’s renowned art.

The raved-about evening began watching the sunset on the rooftop overlooking downtown LA with two World Cup fencers sparing to music that played from a rare-looking instrument called an Ambox. Magician Chad Nelson made rounds for an extra layer of wow.

At dusk, participants were guided through a mysterious silver door and into a whimsical world where ceremony and art came to life.

The group, already bonded with shared experience, deepened over heartfelt performances, a one-of-a-kind auction, and delicious food by Top Vegan Chef, Nicole Derseweh. We prayed together and slipped cacao elixirs.

What touched every heart was the fireside chat with Christina Weber and the executive director of the She Ready Foundation, Dr. Thyonne Gordon. The group learned about issues with the foster care system and how they can help ease the pain many young people and children are currently experiencing.

Proceeds from Feminine Weapon Day benefit at-risk youth and children in underserved communities to receive Art & Healing programs, like the ones WeDeepen presents for grownups, adjusted for kids. This mission is important to us.

With the help of a small army of people, WeDeepen’s 9th Annual Feminine Weapon Day raised $7,500 from ticket sales, donations, and auctions. In total, Feminine Weapon Day has now raised over $75,000 for at-risk children and youth to receive resources, education, and growth.

You close your eyes.

You pretend that war isn't happening.

You don't know what to do.

Unfortunately, the enemy has already attacked—the war is on.

OPEN YOUR EYES. FACE THE SHADOWS. TOGETHER WE DEEPEN.

Historically, Feminine Weapon Day has been about reflecting beauty, resting, visioning, discovering human design, and expressing love.

All while providing for children of abuse, extreme poverty, and human trafficking as Mothers & Fathers of the Universe.

In 2021, the theme was #FacingtheShadows. Collectively.

We held the event on Clubhouse.

The shadow, according to psychiatrist Carl Jung, is the parts of ourselves that we refuse to look at—both positive and negative.

Look together.

See the things you need to see to change in union. Unravel the wounds and intergenerational trauma inherited from our ancestors.

Once only accessible in New York City or Los Angeles, join the 8th Annual Feminine Weapon Day Virtual Conference on 👋 Clubhouse—Saturday, January 30th!

Connect to the Collective Shadow through conversation, storytelling, transformation, activity, music, and movement! View the schedule here.

In partnership with ARTEAMOR 501c3, Feminine Weapon Day benefits the development of a Culture Arts Community Center in Newark, NJ for at-risk youth who live in the lowest 0.5% of poverty of all of the American neighborhoods.

Through collective efforts, #WeDeepen!

Sleep is were we spend nearly a third of our lives. But when it comes to sleeping, well established to be as important as exercising and eating right, the story is much different as our pride was once getting turned upside down. Ambitions are high in NYC. Here we give love and release shame once felt by sleeping "too much." See More →
